Humankind has achieved interstellar colonization with the help of the insectoid aliens known as the Kantaki, sharing control with two major powers: the Consortium and the Alliance. However, a resurgence of dangerous Temporal beings, former prisoners of a time imprisonment, threatens to plunge the galaxy into war once again. These hostile entities manipulate Rungard Avar Valdorian, a former leader of the Consortium, as they seek to restore chaos.
