Set in Martinique in 1765, the story follows brothers Emile and Lucien as they undertake a daring mission assigned by their French master, Father Cleophas, to return to Grenada and retrieve slaves claimed by English invaders. While Lucien views the journey as an exciting adventure, Emile, more experienced and wary, faces the perilous undertaking with cautious determination, driven by a sense of duty and the hope of reconnecting with his first love, Celeste.
