Until I Smile at You

"Until I Smile at You" is a biography of Ruth Lowe, a remarkable 20th-century music pioneer who overcame adversity and broke barriers as a female composer and performer in Tin Pan Alley. The book explores her personal journey, her early successes—most notably writing the timeless hit "I'll Never Smile Again"—and her influential role as one of the architects of the American ballad. It also offers insights from renowned industry figures and recounts her experiences touring across North America with an all-female band.
