The Secret River

In 1806, William Thornhill, a man of quick temper, is transported from London to the harsh environment of New South Wales, where he and his family struggle to adapt. Eight years later, Thornhill sets out to claim land along the Hawkesbury River, home to Aboriginal people and other recent settlers. As he faces difficult choices, the story explores themes of survival, identity, and the complexities of human response to a challenging land.
