This audiobook recounts the remarkable true story of Molly, the mother of Nugi Garimara, who in 1931 led her two sisters on an extraordinary 1,600-kilometre walk across Western Australia to escape the confinement of a government institution for Aboriginal children. At just eight, eleven, and fourteen years old, they embarked on a perilous journey, barefoot and without supplies, following the rabbit-proof fence to find their way home while being pursued. Their trek highlights a past marked by severe hardship and resilience, offering a powerful glimpse into a poignant chapter of history.
