Ruth Roseworth, a successful mystery writer, travels to the Isle of Skye to research a historic serial killer but unexpectedly finds herself transported to ancient Scotland during the murder spree. There, she teams up with Liam MacLeod, a castle guard and monster hunter, as they work to uncover the truth behind the killings and confront their growing feelings for each other.
