Locus Amoenus

In this darkly comic novel, a 9/11 widow and her son, Hamlet, have cultivated a peaceful rural life after leaving Brooklyn, only to face new tensions with their affluent, environmentally unaware neighbors. As Hamlet, now 18, becomes increasingly disillusioned with American society and its values, his world is further upheaved when his mother remarries and he uncovers unsettling truths about those around him. Blending satire and tragedy, the story explores themes of deception, societal decay, and the search for authenticity.
