Walking on Fire

Set in 1974 Greece, this story follows twenty-five-year-old Kate as she embarks on a transformative journey working as a speech therapist in Thessaloniki amid a backdrop of political upheaval and social change. Through her experiences with her students, new friendships, and a romantic connection with a Communist, she encounters the complex history and shifting loyalties of post-dictatorship Greece. As her understanding deepens, Kate faces a difficult choice that tests her loyalty, safety, and sense of identity.
