The Madstone

Set in Texas hill country in 1868, a young man named Benjamin Shreve is drawn into a perilous journey when he helps a treasure hunter track down a stranded stagecoach. Discovering that its passengers include a pregnant woman and her young son fleeing a violent and dangerous husband, Benjamin allies himself with others to escort Nell and Tot to safety across treacherous terrain.
