Rose Hamilton, seeking a fresh start, responds to an advertisement to escort an orphaned child home to Australia, despite numerous reasons to stay away. As she bonds with five-year-old Walter Lucknow and travels across treacherous seas, she discovers that the rural Queensland cattle station she visits holds unexpected challenges and emotional connections.
