Cries in her Sleep

This story follows six-year-old Dolores Hummingbird as she navigates her early life at the Carlisle Indian Industrial School and forms a close bond with an Irish orphan named Sky Eyes. Both girls excel as artists, studying under Robert Henri and eventually moving to Paris to immerse themselves in the vibrant art scene of Montmartre. The narrative explores themes of friendship, artistic pursuit, and the search for a place to belong.
