Jacob Whitlock, a young drifter burdened by a troubled childhood, sets out to reach a desert hotel in Tonopah, Nevada, offering free room, meals, and work. His journey takes a surreal turn when his convoy mysteriously disappears, leaving him to walk alone through the desert. Along his path, Jacob faces hallucinations of his past and encounters a legendary creature from Native American folklore, confronting the strange and haunting realities of his quest.
