The Memory of Time

Set in 1936 Shreveport, Louisiana, this story follows Miriam Levenson, a young woman from New York working for the Federal Writers Project, as she encounters a diverse array of elderly residents with rich histories and secrets. Throughout her time in the town, Miriam observes that its inhabitants hold hidden stories, and she begins to uncover her own concealed truths, all while being subtly pursued by a shadowy figure.
