Kate Tempest, a groundbreaking performer in spoken-word poetry, showcases her distinctive blend of street poetry, rap, and storytelling in "Brand New Ancients," a spoken story crafted to be enhanced with live music. The poem weaves together the lives of two families in the city, intertwining contemporary struggles with classical myth to explore themes of violence, bravery, sacrifice, and love. Tempest’s compelling stage presence and innovative style bring to life a narrative that reveals the timelessness of myth in everyday human experiences.
