The Hospital by the River

Gynaecologists Catherine and Reg Hamlin journeyed to Ethiopia in 1959 to establish a midwifery school and have dedicated nearly fifty years to improving maternal health care. Through their efforts, thousands of women affected by obstructed labor and fistulae have regained their lives and dignity. Their work focuses on treating a devastating condition that, without medical intervention, can lead to lifelong suffering.
