How the Caliph became a stork

A caliph, content with his life, is gifted a magic powder that allows him to transform into any creature he desires. After transforming into a stork with his vizier, they forget the magic word to revert to human form and wander the world in their new shapes. Their journey leads them to encounter another animal, which may hold the key to their return. This tale is one of Wilhelm Hauff's most famous orient-inspired fairy stories.
