The People in the Trees

In 1950, Dr. Norton Perina embarks on an expedition to a remote Micronesian island, discovering a tribe and a group of long-lived, increasingly senile forest dwellers known as ‘The Dreamers’. When Perina kills a turtle believed to grant eternal life, he gains worldwide recognition after scientifically proving its longevity properties, but soon faces unforeseen and tragic consequences. The story explores themes of discovery, morality, and the unforeseen costs of pursuit of immortality.
