Eighteen-year-old Edith "Eddie" Miller, an aspiring writer, finds herself at a crossroads after her close friendship with Rose shifts toward thoughts of marriage. She escapes to the countryside when she meets the charismatic poet Nash Nicholson, whose estate becomes a haven for artistic hedonism. Amidst this unconventional milieu, Eddie hopes to find inspiration to complete her novel, but she soon uncovers that the world of literary fame has its darker sides.
