The Exiles

Set in 1840, this story follows Evangeline Stokes, who faces adversity after losing her position as a governess and being unjustly imprisoned, leading her to a prison ship bound for Australia. There, she befriends Hazel, a fellow prisoner serving time for theft. Meanwhile, in Tasmania, orphan Mathinna is adopted by the governor's family and faces her own struggles as she navigates life as an outsider. These three women's lives intersect on their journey across the seas, shaping the story of building a new society in distant lands.
