The Hippopotamus

Ted Wallace, a grumpy and womanizing former poet and critic, seeks refuge at his friend Lord Logan’s country estate, Swafford Hall, to escape his troubles. However, he quickly becomes embroiled in inexplicable events and phenomena that challenge his understanding of the world. The story combines the mundane with the mysterious, hinting at miracles and strange happenings beyond ordinary comprehension.
