The Poppet

Set in the small Cumbrian village of Bleaberry Beck, the story explores local legends and superstitions surrounding the village’s witches, told with reverence and a sense of mystery. Richard Henderson, a Medieval Studies student from Oxford, unwittingly becomes involved when he acquires a faceless wooden doll that conceals a disturbing curse. The narrative gradually reveals the dark history linked to the village’s supernatural folklore.
