Once a Hollywood star, Jack Tyler finds himself at a crossroads and seeks solace in a small-town community theater. As he reconnects with his roots and reignites his passion for theater, he also encounters schoolteacher Molly Brighton, who is initially wary of the charismatic newcomer. Their mutual attraction begins to blossom amidst the town's close-knit community, with Jack's old friend playing Cupid’s role.
