Vern, a Black woman with albinism, escapes a religious compound only to discover her body is undergoing remarkable changes and developing new powers. Living in the woods and raising twins away from society, she begins to notice unsettling alterations in her body. To understand her transformation, Vern uncovers a dark history of dehumanization, medical experiments, and genocide that connects to her own journey.
