Riktor feels uneasy about a policeman who enters his home unannounced and observes him arrogantly, though he chooses not to question him. While he knows he is guilty of a serious crime, he is surprised to discover that the officer’s visit is not related to a missing person case. Instead, Riktor is accused of something entirely different—an accusation that challenges his sense of innocence.
