Years after a chance reunion on a country road, ornithologist Celia Burke and veterinary surgeon Burnaby Hayes reconnect and begin an unconventional romance. As tragedy and grief unfold near the Snake River, Celia flees to a remote farm in Washington’s Palouse region, where she encounters new experiences and mysterious occurrences.
