Maggie Rose and Sass

Maggie Rose and Sass is set in 1888 in a fictional town based on Nicodemus, Kansas, and explores themes of race and culture through the lives of two young girls from contrasting backgrounds. Maggie, an orphan raised by a racist grandmother in Georgia, encounters Sass, who has grown up entirely within the predominantly Black Solomon Town with a diverse heritage. Their differing experiences highlight cultural differences and set the stage for meaningful interactions between the characters.
