The Vanishing Place

Effie grew up in the harsh New Zealand bush with her siblings, believing their parents kept them isolated out of love for nature, but darker motives may have been at play. After fleeing the wilderness following a traumatic event, she builds a new life abroad. When she learns a young girl resembling her is the sole witness to a murder, Effie is drawn back to her childhood home to uncover the truth about her past and confront her deepest fears.
