Bonnie G. Smith is an American feminist historian and author who served as Board of Governors Distinguished Professor of History at Rutgers University. Her writing focuses on women’s and gender history, world history, modern Europe, historiography, and empire. She is the author of Women in World History, The Gender of History, Changing Lives, Women’s Studies: The Basics, and Europe in the Contemporary World, and was general editor of the four-volume Oxford Encyclopedia of Women in World History.
