John Cooper Clarke is an English poet, writer and performer from Salford, known as the “Bard of Salford” and the “Godfather of Punk Poetry.” His work first gained attention in the 1970s through punk-era performance poetry, and he later published poetry collections including Have It and WHAT, as well as his 2020 memoir I Wanna Be Yours.
