Barbara Robinson (1927–2013) was an American children's author, playwright, and short-story writer. She published her first children's book, Across from Indian Shore, in 1962 and wrote more than 40 short stories for magazines including McCall's and Ladies' Home Journal. Her best-known work, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever (1972), became a bestselling holiday classic and was adapted for stage and television; she also wrote The Best School Year Ever, The Best Halloween Ever, and My Brother Louis Measures Worms.
