I.M. Aiken is a New England writer of literary novels and short stories, including The Little Ambulance War of Winchester County, Stolen Mountain, the Trowbridge Dispatch stories, and Captain Henry. Drawing on decades of work in emergency medical services, firefighting, public safety, and a tour in Iraq as a civilian member of the U.S. Army’s 4th Infantry Division, Aiken writes character-driven stories about public service, moral conflict, rural communities, and war. Aiken was born and raised in the Boston area and now lives in Vermont.
