Tom Frye is a Lincoln, Nebraska author whose writing career began while he was working with delinquent youth at a detention facility, where residents read and responded to his stories. He later wrote the Havelock Chronicles, beginning with Scratchin' on the Eight Ball, drawing on his experiences growing up in Havelock and decades of work with troubled and at-risk young people. His later work includes young-adult crime fiction, mythic fantasy, children's stories, and the autobiographical Behind the 8-Ball.
