Reginald Rose (1920–2002) was an American playwright and screenwriter who began writing for television in 1951 during the Golden Age of live anthology drama. He became best known for Twelve Angry Men, first broadcast as a teleplay in 1954 and later adapted by Rose for the stage and the Oscar-nominated 1957 film. His work frequently explored social justice, prejudice, political controversy, and moral responsibility, including in The Defenders and numerous television dramas and films.
