Pete Townshend is an English writer and musician best known as the principal songwriter and guitarist of The Who. His writing career includes music journalism, essays, poetry, scripts, short stories, and literary editing; he founded Eel Pie Publishing and later worked as an acquisitions editor at Faber and Faber. His books include the short-story collection Horse's Neck, the Lifehouse screenplay, the memoir Who I Am, and the novel The Age of Anxiety.
