Nico Walker is an American novelist originally from Cleveland and the author of Cherry, his semi-autobiographical debut novel. He began writing Cherry while serving an eleven-year prison sentence for bank robbery; the novel was published by Alfred A. Knopf in 2018, received strong critical acclaim, and was nominated for the PEN/Hemingway Award.
