Katja Millay is an American author who grew up in Florida and earned a degree in film and television production from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts. Before becoming a novelist, she worked as a television producer and taught film studies and screenwriting. Her debut novel, The Sea of Tranquility, was originally self-published and later acquired by Atria Books; it received the American Library Association's Alex Award and was named a School Library Journal Best Book of 2013.
