Brooke Shields is an American author whose writing career centers on candid personal nonfiction and memoir. Her books include Down Came the Rain, about postpartum depression; There Was a Little Girl, a memoir of her upbringing and relationship with her mother; and Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old, an exploration of aging and womanhood. She has also written the children’s audiobook It’s the Best Day Ever, Dad! and frequently narrates her own work.
