Anna Burns is a Belfast-born Northern Irish novelist whose writing draws extensively on the social and political realities of the Troubles. Her debut novel, No Bones, won the Winifred Holtby Memorial Prize, followed by Little Constructions and the novella Mostly Hero. Her 2018 novel Milkman won the Booker Prize, the National Book Critics Circle Award for Fiction, the Orwell Prize for Political Fiction, and the International Dublin Literary Award.
