Nadia Murad is an Iraqi Yazidi author and human-rights activist whose writing career centers on documenting her experience as a survivor of Islamic State captivity and the Yazidi genocide. Her memoir, The Last Girl: My Story of Captivity, and My Fight Against the Islamic State, was published in 2017 and became an internationally recognized work of testimony and advocacy.
