Daniel J. Simons is an experimental psychologist and professor at the University of Illinois, where he directs the Visual Cognition Laboratory. He is the co-author, with Christopher Chabris, of The Invisible Gorilla: And Other Ways Our Intuitions Deceive Us (2010) and Nobody’s Fool: Why We Get Taken In and What We Can Do About It (2023). His writing brings research on attention, perception, memory, intuition, and deception to general audiences through popular-science books and essays.
