Caskey Russell is a Seattle-born author, professor, musician, and enrolled member of Alaska’s Tlingit Nation. He began developing his debut novel, The Door on the Sea, while teaching in Wyoming and on sabbatical in New Zealand, writing it as a Tlingit-inspired epic fantasy rooted in Indigenous storytelling. The novel launched his Raven and Eagle trilogy, followed by The Eagle in the Mountain.
