Lily Savage was the drag persona of British comedian and writer Paul O’Grady. O’Grady wrote several bestselling autobiographical memoirs about his life and career, including At My Mother’s Knee... and Other Low Joints and Still Standing: The Savage Years, as well as Paul O’Grady’s Country Life. He later wrote the middle-grade Eddie Albert and the Amazing Animal Gang adventure series for children.
