Evelyn Sibley Lampman (1907–1980) was an Oregon writer of children’s and young adult fiction whose 36-year career produced 37 books, many rooted in Oregon history, pioneer life, and the experiences of Native Americans and other marginalized groups. She began as a Portland radio continuity writer and educational-program director before publishing her first children’s novel, Crazy Creek, in 1948.
