James McGirk is a London-born author who grew up in Madrid and New Delhi and holds a BA and MFA in Writing from Columbia University. He writes fiction, creative nonfiction, and long-form journalism, including the novels American Outlaws and A Grand Theory of Everything and the Audible nonfiction sleep story The Perfect Swing. His essays and journalism have appeared in publications including TIME, WIRED, The Atlantic, The Economist, and The Paris Review Daily.
