Lena Manta is a Greek novelist born in Istanbul to Greek parents who moved to Greece at a young age. After directing a puppet theater and working as a newspaper writer and radio director, she began publishing fiction in 2001. Her bestselling novels, including The House by the River and The Gold Letter, established her as a major voice in Greek popular fiction and brought her international recognition; she was named Author of the Year by Greek Life & Style magazine in 2009 and 2011.
