Martin Davies is a British novelist who grew up on the Wirral, studied English and History at university, and worked in broadcasting before beginning his writing career. He wrote his first novel, Mrs Hudson and the Spirits’ Curse, for his father, launching the Mrs Hudson mysteries featuring Sherlock Holmes’s housekeeper. He has also written historical and literary suspense novels including The Conjuror’s Bird, The Year After, The Unicorn Road, and Havana Sleeping, which was shortlisted for the CWA Historical Dagger.
