Randall E. Stross is a historian, author, and former New York Times columnist whose nonfiction focuses mainly on technology, business, entrepreneurship, and society. He has written books about Silicon Valley startups and venture capital, including The Launch Pad, eBoys, and Steve Jobs and the NeXT Big Thing, as well as corporate histories of Google and Microsoft. He also writes biographies and history, including The Wizard of Menlo Park about Thomas Edison, and holds a PhD in modern East Asian history from Stanford University.
