Dmitry Rus (born September 8, 1975, in Kyiv) is a Russian-language speculative-fiction author best known for pioneering the LitRPG series Play to Live. Trained in mathematics and computer science, he combined his interest in literature and computer games when he began publishing fiction online in 2013; the series quickly gained a large readership and was later published by Eksmo, with several books translated into English. He has also written science-fiction and post-apocalyptic fiction, including the Squadcom-13 and Generation Z series.
