J.L. Seegars is an indie romance author who began self-publishing in the early 2020s after building an audience through romance-book recommendation videos. Her debut, Restore Me, launched the New Haven contemporary-romance series, and she moved into traditional publishing in January 2026 when Bloom released a new edition. She writes emotionally complex Black romance centered on messy relationships, heartbreak, and happily-ever-after endings.
