Shira Nayman is a South African-born, Australian-raised author who lives in the New York area. She writes fiction, short stories, and creative nonfiction, including the story collection Awake in the Dark, the novels The Listener and River, and the memoir Shoreline. Her work has appeared in The Atlantic, The Georgia Review, The New England Review, and Boulevard, and she has received grants from the Australia Council for the Arts and other literary organizations.
